I am currently wrapping up a very exciting and successful social networking pilot for NASA. I designed and managed the project, called “NASAsphere” from beginning to end. I started with 78 people and the network grew to 295 people in 60 days, with overwhelming support from the NASAsphere community. I am currently preparing a presentation on the pilot to deliver at the 2008 KM World conference with my vendor partner Socialcast. I have a couple of blog postings on opennasa.com related to social networking and my NASAsphere project.
I am also a community manager for two NASA Engineering Network communities of practice and have developed methods and surveys for measurement and analysis of communities of practice success.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree from California State University, Fresno, in psychology. My undergraduate graduate studies and research focused on the areas of cognitive psychology and the auditory and visual imagery influences in memory recall.
I am a recipient of several NASA Ames Research Center Honor Awards for team and individual contributions, including “Contractor of the Year, 2005” for her work in establishing the structure and processes for the NASA Ames Research Center’s Institutional Research & Development and Bid & Proposal funding mechanisms.
